Ingredients

  • Pork belly - 150 grams, thinly sliced
  • Carrot - 1 medium, sliced
  • Daikon radish - 100 grams, sliced
  • Negi (Japanese green onion) - 1, chopped
  • Tofu - 100 grams, cubed
  • Miso paste - 2 tablespoons
  • Dashi stock - 700 ml
  • Soy sauce - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. In a pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the sliced pork belly and sauté until browned.
  2. Add the sliced carrot and daikon radish to the pot, cooking for about 5 minutes until they start to soften.
  3. Pour in the dashi stock and bring to a gentle boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in the miso paste until fully dissolved, then add the soy sauce, tofu, and chopped negi. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
