- Teriyaki sauce - 4 tablespoons
- Garlic (minced) - 1 clove
- Fresh ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
- Green onion (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Burger buns (kosher) - 2
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Tomato (sliced) - 1 medium
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, 2 tablespoons of teriyaki sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green onion, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, brush the remaining 2 tablespoons of teriyaki sauce over the patties to glaze them.
- While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the teriyaki beef patty, a dollop of mayonnaise, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Top with the other half of the bun.
