Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 250 grams
  • Soy sauce (low sodium) - 30 ml
  • Rice vinegar - 15 ml
  • Sesame oil - 10 ml
  • Fresh ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic (minced) - 1 clove
  • Green onion (sliced) - 1 stalk
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large
  • Radish (thinly sliced) - 50 grams
  • Cucumber (thinly sliced) - 50 grams
  • Black sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili flakes (optional) - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. 1. Begin by preparing the marinade: In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Mix well.
  2. 2. Place the beef sirloin in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it, ensuring the meat is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. 3. Preheat a skillet or frying pan over high heat. Once hot, remove the beef from the marinade (reserve the marinade) and sear the beef for 1-2 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting time for desired doneness.
  4. 4. Remove the beef from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.
  5. 5. In the same skillet, add the reserved marinade and bring it to a simmer for about 3-5 minutes to slightly reduce and thicken.
  6. 6. To serve, place lettuce leaves on plates, top with sliced beef, radish, and cucumber. Drizzle the reduced marinade over the top and sprinkle with green onion, black sesame seeds, and chili flakes if using.
