Ingredients

  • Octopus - 200 grams (cooked and chilled)
  • Soy sauce (kosher) - 30 ml
  • Wasabi - 5 grams
  • Pickled ginger - 20 grams
  • Cucumber - 1 medium, thinly sliced
  • Radish - 1 medium, thinly sliced
  • Sesame seeds - 10 grams, toasted
  • Green onion - 1 stalk, finely chopped
  • Sea salt - to taste

Steps

  1. Ensure the octopus is cooked and chilled. If using fresh octopus, boil it for about 45 minutes until tender, then cool in an ice bath.
  2. Using a sharp knife, slice the chilled octopus into thin rounds, approximately 1/4 inch thick.
  3. On a serving plate, arrange the octopus slices in a circular pattern.
  4. Garnish the octopus with thinly sliced cucumber, radish, and sprinkle toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onion on top.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce with wasabi to taste.
  6. Serve the Tako Sashimi with pickled ginger on the side and the soy sauce mixture for dipping. Enjoy!
