Ingredients

  • Sushi rice - 200 grams
  • Water - 250 ml
  • Rice vinegar - 30 ml
  • Sugar - 10 grams
  • Salt - 5 grams
  • Halal shrimp - 100 grams
  • Halal crab sticks - 100 grams
  • Cucumber - 1 medium, julienned
  • Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
  • Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
  • Radish - 4, thinly sliced
  • Soy sauce - 30 ml
  • Sesame oil - 10 ml
  • Nori sheets - 2, cut into strips
  • Sesame seeds - 10 grams

Steps

  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then drain.
  2. In a pot, combine the rinsed rice and 250 ml of water. Bring to a boil, cover, and reduce the heat to low. Cook for 18-20 minutes, or until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.
  3. While the rice is cooking, prepare the sushi vinegar by mixing rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small bowl until dissolved.
  4. Once cooked, transfer the rice to a large bowl and gently fold in the sushi vinegar. Let it cool to room temperature.
  5. In a separate pan, lightly sauté the Halal shrimp in a drizzle of sesame oil until pink and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. To assemble, place a generous scoop of sushi rice in each bowl.
  7. Top the rice with sautéed shrimp, crab sticks, cucumber, avocado, carrot, and radish slices.
  8. Drizzle with soy sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds and nori strips before serving.
