Ingredients
- Sushi rice - 200 grams
- Water - 250 ml
- Rice vinegar - 30 ml
- Sugar - 10 grams
- Salt - 5 grams
- Halal shrimp - 100 grams
- Halal crab sticks - 100 grams
- Cucumber - 1 medium, julienned
- Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
- Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
- Radish - 4, thinly sliced
- Soy sauce - 30 ml
- Sesame oil - 10 ml
- Nori sheets - 2, cut into strips
- Sesame seeds - 10 grams
Steps
- Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then drain.
- In a pot, combine the rinsed rice and 250 ml of water. Bring to a boil, cover, and reduce the heat to low. Cook for 18-20 minutes, or until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.
- While the rice is cooking, prepare the sushi vinegar by mixing rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small bowl until dissolved.
- Once cooked, transfer the rice to a large bowl and gently fold in the sushi vinegar. Let it cool to room temperature.
- In a separate pan, lightly sauté the Halal shrimp in a drizzle of sesame oil until pink and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.
- To assemble, place a generous scoop of sushi rice in each bowl.
- Top the rice with sautéed shrimp, crab sticks, cucumber, avocado, carrot, and radish slices.
- Drizzle with soy sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds and nori strips before serving.
