- Rice vinegar - 30ml
- Sugar - 10g
- Salt - 5g
- Nori sheets - 2
- Cooked shrimp - 100g
- Sliced avocado - 1
- Cucumber - 50g
- Wasabi - to taste
- Soy sauce (gluten-free) - for serving
- Sesame seeds - 1 tbsp
- Pickled ginger - for garnish
Steps
- Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak for 30 minutes.
- Drain the rice and combine it with 200ml of water in a pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Remove the pot from heat and let it sit, covered, for an additional 10 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Stir this mixture into the cooked rice, then let it cool slightly.
- Once cooled, divide the rice into two equal portions and form each portion into a round patty about 1.5 cm thick.
- Place a nori sheet on a clean surface and place one rice patty on top. Layer with shrimp, avocado, cucumber slices, and a small amount of wasabi.
- Top with another rice patty and carefully wrap the nori around the sides to form a burger shape. Repeat with the second burger.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top of the nori and serve with gluten-free soy sauce and pickled ginger.
