  • Halal beef sirloin, thinly sliced - 150 grams
  • Shiitake mushrooms, sliced - 100 grams
  • Napa cabbage, chopped - 100 grams
  • Green onions, sliced - 2 stalks
  • Soy sauce - 4 tablespoons
  • Mirin - 2 tablespoons
  • Sake (halal alternative) - 2 tablespoons
  • Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Ginger, minced - 1 teaspoon
  • Water - 500 ml
  • Salt - to taste
  • Ground black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of boiling salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add the sliced beef to the skillet, cooking until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Season with salt and ground black pepper to taste.
  4. Stir in the shiitake mushrooms, napa cabbage, and green onions, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, mirin, sake, and sugar until well combined. Pour this sauce into the skillet with the beef and vegetables, stirring to coat everything evenly.
  6. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, tossing everything together until the pasta is well coated in the sauce and heated through, about 2-3 minutes.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with additional green onions if desired.
