- Soy sauce - 30 ml
- Mirin - 15 ml
- Sesame oil - 10 ml
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Lettuce leaves (Butter or Romaine) - 8 large leaves
- Black pepper - to taste
- Sesame seeds - for garnish
Steps
- In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the thinly sliced beef to the skillet, cooking until browned, approximately 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in the shiitake mushrooms, napa cabbage, and chopped green onions, cooking for another 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender.
- Pour in the soy sauce and mirin, stirring to combine, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Season with black pepper to taste.
- Remove the skillet from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
- To serve, spoon the beef and vegetable mixture into the center of each lettuce leaf, wrap it up, and garnish with sesame seeds.
