  • Napa cabbage - 100 grams, chopped
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Soy sauce - 30 ml
  • Mirin - 15 ml
  • Sesame oil - 10 ml
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Lettuce leaves (Butter or Romaine) - 8 large leaves
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Sesame seeds - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the thinly sliced beef to the skillet, cooking until browned, approximately 2-3 minutes.
  4. Stir in the shiitake mushrooms, napa cabbage, and chopped green onions, cooking for another 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  5. Pour in the soy sauce and mirin, stirring to combine, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  6. Season with black pepper to taste.
  7. Remove the skillet from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  8. To serve, spoon the beef and vegetable mixture into the center of each lettuce leaf, wrap it up, and garnish with sesame seeds.
