Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin, thinly sliced - 300 grams
  • Shiitake mushrooms, sliced - 100 grams
  • Napa cabbage, chopped - 100 grams
  • Green onions, chopped - 50 grams
  • Tofu, firm, cubed - 150 grams
  • Soy sauce - 60 ml
  • Mirin - 30 ml
  • Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cooked white rice - 400 grams

Steps

  1. In a large skillet or shallow pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced beef to the skillet, cooking until it starts to brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Stir in the shiitake mushrooms, napa cabbage, and tofu cubes, cooking for another 3-4 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, mirin, and sugar until well combined.
  5. Pour the sauce mixture over the beef and vegetables in the skillet, stirring gently to coat everything evenly.
  6. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender and the sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Serve the beef and vegetable mixture over a bed of cooked white rice in bowls.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
