  • Soy sauce - 30 ml
  • Mirin - 15 ml
  • Sugar - 10 grams
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Green onions - 2, finely chopped
  • Shiitake mushrooms - 50 grams, sliced
  • Cabbage - 100 grams, shredded
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Egg - 1, cooked sunny-side up
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Black sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef with soy sauce, mirin, sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and half of the chopped green onions. Form the mixture into two patties.
  2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.
  3. In the same skillet, add sesame oil and sauté the shiitake mushrooms and shredded cabbage for about 3-4 minutes until softened.
  4. Toast the burger buns in the skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Assemble the burgers by placing the cooked beef patty on the bottom bun, followed by the sautéed vegetables, and topping with a sunny-side-up egg.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining green onions and black sesame seeds over the egg, then place the top bun on to finish the burger.
