- tofu, firm - 150 grams, cut into cubes
- shiitake mushrooms - 100 grams, sliced
- green onions - 4 stalks, cut into 5 cm pieces
- napa cabbage - 200 grams, chopped
- carrot - 1 medium, julienned
- soy sauce - 60 ml
- mirin - 30 ml
- sake - 30 ml
- sugar - 1 tablespoon
- water - 300 ml
- sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- fresh parsley - for garnish
Steps
- In a large skillet or shallow pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat.
- Add the sliced beef and sauté until browned, about 2-3 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, sake, and sugar, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the beef in the skillet, and add the water.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then add the tofu cubes, shiitake mushrooms, napa cabbage, carrot, and green onions.
- Cover and cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
