Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Sriracha sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Sliced cucumber - 1/2 cup
  • Sliced avocado - 1/2
  • Pickled ginger - 2 tablespoons
  • Green onions - 2, chopped

Steps

  1. Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into thick slices.
  2. In a bowl, mix Sriracha, soy sauce, garlic powder, ginger powder, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
  3. Add the tofu slices to the marinade and let them soak for 10 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle cornstarch over the marinated tofu slices on both sides.
  5. Heat sesame oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat and cook the tofu slices for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
  6. While the tofu cooks, prepare the burger buns by toasting them lightly if desired.
  7. Assemble the burgers: Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, add a crispy tofu slice, top with sliced cucumber, avocado, pickled ginger, and chopped green onions.
  8. Finish with the top bun, serve immediately, and enjoy your Sriracha Tofu Burger.
