Ingredients

  • Chicken thighs - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce (shoyu) - 4 tablespoons
  • Mirin - 2 tablespoons
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Burger buns - 2 pieces
  • Lettuce leaves - 2 pieces
  • Tomato (sliced) - 1 medium
  • Cucumber (sliced) - 1 small
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the marinade.
  2. Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove chicken from the marinade and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and golden brown.
  5. While the chicken is cooking, toast the burger buns until lightly golden.
  6. Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun and layer with lettuce, cooked chicken, tomato slices, and cucumber slices.
