Ingredients

  • Ground pork - 300 grams
  • Fresh shiso leaves - 10 leaves, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
  • Coconut aminos - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large (for wrapping)
  • Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped shiso leaves, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green onion, coconut aminos, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 2 cm thick.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the toppings by slicing the avocado and tomato.
  5. Once the patties are done, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a minute.
  6. To assemble the burgers, place each pork patty on a large lettuce leaf, top with avocado slices and tomato slices, and wrap the lettuce around the filling. Serve immediately.
