Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 250 grams
  • Fresh shiso leaves - 10 leaves, chopped
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Wasabi - 1 teaspoon
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large (for wrapping)
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Avocado - 1/2, sliced
  • Green onion - 1, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped shiso leaves, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into two equal patties.
  3. Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. While the patties are cooking, in a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise and wasabi until smooth to create the wasabi mayo.
  5. Once the patties are done, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes.
  6. To assemble the burgers, place a cooked patty on a large lettuce leaf, top with avocado slices, a dollop of wasabi mayo, and sprinkle with chopped green onion. Wrap the lettuce around the filling and serve immediately.
