Ingredients

  • Cauliflower - 300 grams
  • Shirasu (whitebait) - 150 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Mirin - 1 tablespoon
  • Chopped green onions - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Nori (seaweed) strips - 2 sheets
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Cut the cauliflower into florets and steam them until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Transfer the steamed cauliflower to a food processor and pulse until it reaches a rice-like texture.
  3. In a pan, lightly sauté the cauliflower rice with a pinch of salt and black pepper over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  4. In another pan, warm the shirasu over low heat for about 2-3 minutes, adding soy sauce and mirin to enhance the flavor.
  5. To serve, place a generous portion of cauliflower rice in each bowl and top with the warm shirasu.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, and add nori strips on top.
