Ingredients

  • Sea salt - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Rinse the mackerel fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. Sprinkle sea salt evenly over both sides of the mackerel fillets and let them sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
  3. Preheat a grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Once hot, place the mackerel fillets skin-side down on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the skin is crispy.
  5. Flip the fillets and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily.
  6. Remove from the grill and let rest for a minute.
  7. Serve the grilled mackerel with lemon wedges and a sprinkle of chopped green onions. Drizzle with sesame oil if desired.
