Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin, thinly sliced - 200 grams
  • Napa cabbage, chopped - 100 grams
  • Shiitake mushrooms, sliced - 50 grams
  • Carrot, julienned - 50 grams
  • Tofu, firm, cubed - 100 grams
  • Green onions, chopped - 2 stalks
  • Dashi stock - 1 liter
  • Soy sauce - 30 ml
  • Sesame oil - 10 ml
  • Salt - to taste
  • Pepper - to taste
  • Rice (cooked) - 150 grams

Steps

  1. In a pot, bring the dashi stock to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  2. Add soy sauce and sesame oil to the stock, stirring well to combine.
  3. Prepare all the vegetables and tofu, placing them on a serving platter.
  4. Once the broth is simmering, season it with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Using chopsticks, dip the sliced beef into the broth for around 10-15 seconds until cooked to your preference.
  6. Add the vegetables and tofu into the pot for a few minutes until tender.
  7. Serve hot alongside cooked rice, garnishing with chopped green onions.
