- Firm tofu - 200 grams
- Sesame oil - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Sesame seeds - 2 tablespoons
- Bread crumbs - 1/2 cup
- Green onions - 2 stalks, finely chopped
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Burger buns - 2 pieces
- Lettuce leaves - 2 pieces
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
- Miso paste - 1 tablespoon
- Vegan mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- Press the tofu to remove excess moisture for about 15 minutes, then crumble it into a bowl.
- In a separate pan, heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the crumbled tofu to the pan, along with soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly. Stir in the bread crumbs, sesame seeds, and chopped green onions until well combined.
- Form the mixture into two patties, ensuring they hold together well.
- In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of sesame oil and cook the patties over medium heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- To assemble the burgers, spread 1 tablespoon of vegan mayonnaise and 1 teaspoon of miso paste on each bun. Place a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, and a few cucumber slices on the bottom bun.
- Top with the cooked tofu patty, then close with the top bun and serve immediately.
