Ingredients

  • Satsuma Imo (Japanese sweet potatoes) - 400 grams
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Sea salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Honey (optional) - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Wash and scrub the satsuma imo under running water to remove any dirt.
  3. Cut the sweet potatoes into wedges or rounds, about 1.5 cm thick.
  4. In a mixing bowl, toss the sweet potato pieces with olive oil and sea salt until evenly coated.
  5. Spread the sweet potatoes in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Roast in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, turning halfway through, until they are tender and golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with black sesame seeds. Drizzle with honey if desired.
