Ingredients

  • Nori seaweed sheets - 2 sheets
  • Wakame seaweed - 30 grams (dried)
  • Soy sauce - 30 ml
  • Rice vinegar - 10 ml
  • Sesame oil - 5 ml
  • Cucumber - 1 medium, julienned
  • Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Chives - a handful, chopped

Steps

  1. Rehydrate the wakame seaweed by soaking it in warm water for about 10 minutes, then drain and set aside.
  2. While the wakame is soaking, prepare the fresh sashimi by slicing the fish into thin, even slices.
  3. In a bowl, combine the rice vinegar, sesame oil, and soy sauce to create a dressing.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the rehydrated wakame, julienned cucumber, and carrot with the dressing, and toss gently.
  5. On a serving plate, arrange the sashimi slices aesthetically and place the seaweed salad beside them.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and chives for added flavor and presentation.
  7. Serve immediately, enjoying the sashimi with extra soy sauce on the side.
