Ingredients
- White fish fillets (e.g., cod or snapper) - 300 grams
- Asparagus - 100 grams
- Carrot - 50 grams
- Shiitake mushrooms - 50 grams
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions - 2, sliced
- Lemon - 1, juiced
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Water - 500 milliliters
Steps
- Prepare all the vegetables by washing and slicing them into bite-sized pieces. Cut the asparagus into 5 cm lengths and julienne the carrot.
- In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
- Place the white fish fillets in the marinade and let them sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- In a steaming pot or bamboo steamer, layer the vegetables (asparagus, carrot, and shiitake mushrooms) evenly at the bottom.
- Remove the fish from the marinade and place it on top of the vegetables in the steamer.
- Pour the water into the steaming pot, cover, and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium and steam for 15-20 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Once cooked, carefully remove the steamer from the heat. Serve the steamed fish and vegetables on a plate, garnished with sliced green onions.
