- White fish fillets (such as cod or halibut) - 300 grams

- Mirin - 2 tablespoons
- Sake (halal) - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 200 milliliters
- Fresh ginger, sliced - 10 grams
- Scallions, chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Carrot, julienned - 50 grams
- Daikon radish, julienned - 50 grams
Steps
- In a medium saucepan, combine soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, and water. Stir well and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Add the sliced ginger, carrot, and daikon radish to the saucepan. Simmer for about 5 minutes until the vegetables start to soften.
- Gently place the fish fillets into the saucepan, ensuring they are submerged in the sauce. Reduce the heat to low and cover the pan.
- Simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Once done, carefully remove the fish and vegetables from the saucepan and arrange them on serving plates.
- Drizzle the sauce over the fish, sprinkle with chopped scallions, and finish with a drizzle of sesame oil before serving.
