Ingredients

  • Pizza dough - 200 grams
  • Saba (mackerel) - 150 grams, filleted
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Mozzarella cheese - 100 grams, shredded
  • Nori (seaweed) - 1 sheet, cut into strips
  • Green onions - 2, thinly sliced
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Pickled ginger - for garnish

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius (428 degrees Fahrenheit).
  2. Sprinkle salt on the saba fillets and let them sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavor.
  3. In a pan over medium heat, add olive oil and cook the saba fillets skin-side down for about 3-4 minutes until the skin is crispy. Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and transfer it to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
  5. Spread the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the pizza dough.
  6. Break the cooked saba into bite-sized pieces and distribute it evenly over the cheese.
  7. Sprinkle the sliced green onions, nori strips, and sesame seeds on top of the pizza.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
  9. Remove the pizza from the oven, drizzle with soy sauce, and let it cool for a couple of minutes.
  10. Slice and serve hot, garnished with pickled ginger on the side.
