Steps

  1. In a pot, bring the dashi stock to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pot, allowing them to infuse the broth for about 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in the miso paste until fully dissolved in the broth.
  4. Add the cubed tofu and sliced mackerel to the pot, cooking for another 5-7 minutes until the mackerel is cooked through.
  5. In the last minute of cooking, add the dried wakame seaweed and sliced green onions.
  6. Finish with a drizzle of sesame oil and a splash of soy sauce for added depth.
