Steps
- In a bowl, mix white miso paste, sake, mirin, soy sauce, and sesame oil to create the marinade.
- Coat the mackerel fillets in the marinade, cover, and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Remove excess marinade from the mackerel.
- Place the mackerel fillets skin-side down in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy.
- Flip the fillets and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the fish is cooked through.
- Serve the mackerel topped with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
