Ingredients

  • Mackerel fillets - 200 grams
  • Burger buns - 2 pieces
  • Cabbage (finely shredded) - 50 grams
  • Cucumber (thinly sliced) - 50 grams
  • Tomato (sliced) - 1 medium
  • Miso paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Lettuce leaves - 2 pieces
  • Green onion (chopped) - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix the miso paste, mayonnaise, soy sauce, and sesame oil to create the miso mayonnaise.
  3. Season the mackerel fillets with salt and black pepper, then grill them for about 4-5 minutes on each side until cooked through and slightly charred.
  4. While the fish is grilling, prepare the burger buns by toasting them lightly on the grill.
  5. Assemble the burger by spreading a generous amount of miso mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun.
  6. Layer the lettuce leaves, grilled mackerel fillet, shredded cabbage, cucumber slices, and tomato slices on top of the mayonnaise.
  7. Sprinkle chopped green onions over the vegetables, then cap with the top half of the bun.
