  • Cornstarch - 25 grams
  • Ice water - 100 ml
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil (for frying) - 500 ml
  • Pizza sauce - 100 ml
  • Mozzarella cheese (shredded) - 100 grams
  • Bell pepper (sliced) - 50 grams
  • Green onions (sliced) - 2 tablespoons
  • Black sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce (Halal) - for drizzling

Steps

  1. Prepare the pizza dough according to your preferred method or use store-bought dough. Let it rest for 20 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together ice water and egg, then gradually add to the flour mixture to create a tempura batter.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).
  4. Dip each prawn into the tempura batter and carefully place them in the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes until golden and crispy, then remove and drain on paper towels.
  5. Preheat your oven to 220°C (430°F). Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and transfer it to a baking sheet.
  6. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, then sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  7. Arrange the fried prawns, sliced bell pepper, and green onions over the cheese. Sprinkle black sesame seeds on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Remove from the oven, drizzle with soy sauce, slice, and serve hot.
