Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 100 grams
- Water - 150 ml
- Egg - 1 large
- Cabbage - 100 grams, finely shredded
- Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
- Carrot - 50 grams, grated
- Halal chicken breast - 100 grams, cooked and diced
- Pickled ginger - 20 grams, chopped
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Okonomiyaki sauce - for drizzling
- Mayonnaise - for drizzling
- Bonito flakes - for topping (optional)
- Nori seaweed flakes - for topping (optional)
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, water, and egg. Mix until smooth.
- Add the finely shredded cabbage, chopped green onions, grated carrot, diced Halal chicken, chopped pickled ginger, salt, and black pepper to the batter. Stir until the ingredients are well combined.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Pour half of the batter into the skillet, spreading it evenly into a round shape, about 2 cm thick.
- Cook for 5-7 minutes until the bottom is golden brown. Flip the pancake carefully and cook for another 5-7 minutes on the other side.
- Remove the pancake from the skillet and keep warm. Repeat the process with the remaining batter, adding more oil if necessary.
- Once both pancakes are cooked, drizzle with okonomiyaki sauce and mayonnaise. Top with bonito flakes and nori seaweed flakes if desired.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
