Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 100 grams
  • Water - 150 ml
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Cabbage - 100 grams, finely shredded
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Carrot - 50 grams, grated
  • Halal chicken breast - 100 grams, cooked and diced
  • Pickled ginger - 20 grams, chopped
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Okonomiyaki sauce - for drizzling
  • Mayonnaise - for drizzling
  • Bonito flakes - for topping (optional)
  • Nori seaweed flakes - for topping (optional)

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, water, and egg. Mix until smooth.
  2. Add the finely shredded cabbage, chopped green onions, grated carrot, diced Halal chicken, chopped pickled ginger, salt, and black pepper to the batter. Stir until the ingredients are well combined.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  4. Pour half of the batter into the skillet, spreading it evenly into a round shape, about 2 cm thick.
  5. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the bottom is golden brown. Flip the pancake carefully and cook for another 5-7 minutes on the other side.
  6. Remove the pancake from the skillet and keep warm. Repeat the process with the remaining batter, adding more oil if necessary.
  7. Once both pancakes are cooked, drizzle with okonomiyaki sauce and mayonnaise. Top with bonito flakes and nori seaweed flakes if desired.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!
