Ingredients
- Natto - 100 grams
- Sushi rice - 150 grams
- Nori sheets - 2 sheets
- Cucumber - 1 small, julienned
- Avocado - 1 small, sliced
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Mirin - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Scallions - 2, finely chopped
- Toasted sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
Steps
- Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook the rice according to package instructions.
- Once the rice is cooked, let it cool slightly and mix in the mirin, sesame oil, and a pinch of salt.
- In a bowl, combine the natto with the soy sauce and chopped scallions. Mix well.
- Lay a nori sheet on a bamboo sushi mat or a clean surface. Spread half of the sushi rice evenly over the nori, leaving a 2 cm border at the top.
- Place half of the natto mixture, julienned cucumber, and avocado slices in a line across the center of the rice.
- Carefully roll the sushi away from you, using the mat to help roll tightly. Seal the edge with a little water.
- Repeat the process with the second nori sheet and remaining ingredients.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Cut the rolls into bite-sized pieces and place them on a baking tray.
- Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes, until heated through.
- Serve warm with extra soy sauce for dipping.
