Ingredients

  • Cooked Japanese short-grain rice - 200 grams
  • Natto - 100 grams
  • Cucumber - 1 small, thinly sliced
  • Radish - 1 small, julienned
  • Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
  • Nori sheets - 2, cut into strips
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Chopped green onions - 2 tablespoons
  • Toasted sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Shiso leaves - 2, for garnish (optional)

Steps

  1. Prepare the rice according to package instructions and keep warm.
  2. In a small bowl, mix natto with soy sauce and sesame oil until well combined.
  3. In serving bowls, place a portion of cooked rice at the bottom.
  4. Top the rice with the natto mixture evenly divided between the bowls.
  5. Arrange the cucumber, radish, and avocado slices on top of the natto.
  6. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
  7. Add strips of nori on top and garnish with shiso leaves if desired.
