Ingredients
- Firm tofu - 300 grams
- White miso paste - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Maple syrup - 1 tablespoon
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)
Steps
- Press the firm tofu between paper towels or a clean kitchen cloth to remove excess moisture for about 15 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix together the white miso paste, soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create a marinade.
- Cut the pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes or slabs and place them in the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes, or up to 1 hour for more flavor.
- Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium heat.
- Remove the tofu from the marinade and place it on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until grill marks appear and the tofu is heated through.
- Once grilled, remove the tofu from the heat and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
- Serve the grilled tofu hot, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
