Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 400 grams (80% lean)
  • White miso paste - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free) - 1 tablespoon
  • Rice vinegar - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large (for wrapping)
  • Sliced cucumber - 1 small
  • Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)
  • Scallions - 2, finely chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the ground beef, miso paste, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic powder, ginger powder, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the burger patties and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the toppings. Slice the cucumber and avocado, and chop the scallions.
  5. Once the burgers are cooked, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
  6. To assemble, place each burger patty on a large lettuce leaf, top with cucumber slices, avocado, and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped scallions.
  7. Wrap the lettuce around the burger and enjoy your Miso Glazed Burger!
