Ingredients

  • Daikon radish - 200 grams
  • White miso paste - 2 tablespoons
  • Mirin - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 1 tablespoon (chopped)
  • Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Peel the daikon radish and cut it into thin rounds, then quarter each round to create small triangles.
  2. In a medium pot, add the daikon pieces and cover them with water. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 10 minutes until they are tender.
  3. While the daikon is cooking, prepare the miso dressing by combining white miso paste, mirin, soy sauce, and sesame oil in a small bowl. Mix until smooth and set aside.
  4. Once the daikon is tender, drain the water and return the daikon to the pot over low heat.
  5. Add the miso dressing to the daikon, stirring gently to coat all pieces evenly. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  6. Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
