Ingredients
- Chicken thigh fillets - 250 grams
- Soy sauce - 30 ml
- Mirin - 15 ml
- Sake - 15 ml
- Brown sugar - 10 grams
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Burger buns - 2 pieces
- Lettuce leaves - 2 pieces
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Cucumber - 1/2 medium, sliced
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Wasabi paste - 1 teaspoon
Steps
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, sake, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.
- Add the chicken thigh fillets to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and let marinate for at least 15 minutes in the refrigerator.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and grill for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and slightly charred.
- While the chicken is grilling, mix the mayonnaise and wasabi paste in a small bowl to create the wasabi mayo.
- Toast the burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the grilled chicken, tomato slices, cucumber slices, and a generous spread of wasabi mayo. Top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your Kushiyaki Chicken Burger!
