- Mirin - 2 tablespoons
- Sake - 2 tablespoons
- Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped for garnish
- Wooden skewers - 4 (soaked in water for 30 minutes)
Steps
- In a bowl, mix gluten-free soy sauce, mirin, sake, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil to create the marinade.
- Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the soaked wooden skewers, leaving a little space between each piece for even cooking.
- Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
- Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve with a side of steamed rice or salad.
