- Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Green onions - 2, sliced (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)
- Wooden skewers - 4 (soaked in water for 30 minutes)
Steps
- Cut the beef sirloin into bite-sized pieces, approximately 2.5 cm cubes.
- In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, mirin, sake, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil to create the marinade.
- Add the beef pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated beef pieces onto the soaked wooden skewers, leaving a little space between each piece for even cooking.
- Place the skewers on the preheated grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness is achieved.
- Remove from the grill and let rest for a couple of minutes.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
