Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 300 grams, cut into 2.5 cm cubes
  • Tamari (gluten-free soy sauce) - 3 tablespoons
  • Mirin - 2 tablespoons
  • Sake - 1 tablespoon
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Bell pepper - 1, cut into chunks
  • Zucchini - 1 small, sliced
  • Wooden skewers - 4, soaked in water for 30 minutes

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine tamari, mirin, sake, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the marinade.
  2. Add the beef cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to marinate.
  3. While the beef is marinating, prepare the vegetables by cutting them into bite-sized pieces.
  4. Once marinated, thread the beef and vegetables onto the soaked skewers, alternating between beef and veggies.
  5. Preheat the grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat.
  6. Grill the skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness and the vegetables are tender.
  7. Remove from the grill and let cool for a couple of minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped green onions.
