Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin - 300 grams, cut into 2 cm cubes
  • Gluten-free soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Mirin - 2 tablespoons
  • Sake - 1 tablespoon
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)
  • Wooden skewers - 4, soaked in water for 30 minutes

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix together gluten-free soy sauce, mirin, sake, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil to create a marinade.
  2. Add the beef cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the marinated beef onto the soaked wooden skewers, leaving a little space between each piece.
  5. Grill the skewers for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness.
  6. Remove from the grill and let rest for a couple of minutes.
  7. Serve the Kushi Gyu skewers garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
