Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Mirin - 2 tablespoons
  • Sake - 1 tablespoon
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Wooden skewers - 4 to 6 pieces, soaked in water

Steps

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture for about 15 minutes, then cut it into 2.5 cm cubes.
  2. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, mirin, sake, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to create a marinade.
  3. Add the tofu cubes to the marinade and let them marinate for at least 10 minutes, turning occasionally.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat.
  5. Thread the marinated tofu onto the soaked wooden skewers, leaving a little space between each cube.
  6. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10 minutes, turning occasionally until the tofu is golden brown and slightly charred.
  7. Remove the skewers from the grill and sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
