Ingredients
- Gluten-free gyoza wrappers - 12 pieces
- Ground pork - 150 grams
- Kimchi, chopped - 50 grams
- Green onions, finely chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic, minced - 1 clove
- Ginger, grated - 1 teaspoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce (gluten-free) - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Water - 100 ml for steaming
- Cooking oil - 2 tablespoons for frying
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped kimchi, green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Lay out a gyoza wrapper on a clean surface. Place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center of the wrapper. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it in half, and pinch to seal, creating a pleated edge. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the gyoza in the skillet, seam side up, making sure they are not touching. Fry for about 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Add 100 ml of water to the skillet and cover immediately with a lid. Steam the gyoza for about 5-6 minutes or until the water has evaporated and the gyoza are cooked through.
- Remove the lid and let them cook for an additional minute to crisp up the bottoms. Serve hot with a dipping sauce made of soy sauce and a splash of vinegar.
