Ingredients

  • Wonton wrappers - 12 pieces
  • Firm tofu - 200 grams, crumbled
  • Cabbage - 100 grams, finely chopped
  • Carrot - 50 grams, grated
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Cooking oil - for frying

Steps

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine crumbled tofu, chopped cabbage, grated carrot, green onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Take a wonton wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges with water and fold the wrapper over to create a triangle, pressing to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little cooking oil. Place the mandu in the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
  4. Add a splash of water (about 2 tablespoons) to the skillet and cover immediately to steam the mandu for about 5 minutes.
  5. Remove the lid and let the mandu cook for another 2 minutes until the water has evaporated and the dumplings are crispy on the bottom. Serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
