Ingredients
- Cooked rice - 200 grams
- Nori sheets - 4 sheets
- Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
- Cucumber - 1 medium, julienned
- Spinach - 100 grams, blanched and drained
- Egg - 2 large, beaten
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- 1. Cook the rice according to package instructions and let it cool slightly.
- 2. While the rice is cooling, prepare the vegetables: julienne the carrot and cucumber, and blanch the spinach in boiling water for 1-2 minutes before draining.
- 3. In a frying pan, heat a little oil and scramble the beaten eggs until cooked, then remove from heat.
- 4. In a bowl, mix the cooked rice with sesame oil and salt to enhance the flavor.
- 5. Place a sheet of nori on a bamboo sushi mat, shiny side down, and spread a thin layer of rice (about 100 grams) evenly over the nori, leaving a 2 cm border at the top.
- 6. Layer the vegetables (carrot, cucumber, spinach) and scrambled egg in a line across the rice.
- 7. Starting from the bottom, carefully roll the nori and rice over the filling, pressing gently but firmly to keep it tight.
- 8. Once rolled, use a sharp knife to slice the gimbap into bite-sized pieces, sprinkling black sesame seeds on top.
- 9. Repeat with the remaining nori sheets and filling until all ingredients are used.
- 10. Serve with soy sauce for dipping.
