Ingredients

  • Kobe beef steaks - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 30 ml
  • Mirin - 15 ml
  • Sesame oil - 10 ml
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh ginger - 1 tsp, grated
  • Green onions - 2, finely chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tsp, toasted

Steps

  1. Prepare the marinade by mixing soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
  2. Place the Kobe beef steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat a grill or griddle pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the steaks from the marinade and let any excess drip off. Discard the marinade.
  5. Grill the steaks for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust the cooking time to your desired doneness.
  6. Once cooked, remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes.
  7. Slice the steaks against the grain and serve topped with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds. Serve with your choice of low-carb vegetables or a side salad.
