Ingredients
- Burdock root - 150 grams
- Carrot - 100 grams
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Mirin - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 100 milliliters
- Green onion - 1 stalk (for garnish)
Steps
- Wash and peel the burdock root, then julienne it into thin strips.
- Soak the burdock strips in water for about 5 minutes to remove bitterness, then drain.
- Wash and peel the carrot, then julienne it into thin strips.
- In a frying pan, heat the sesame oil over medium heat.
- Add the burdock root and sauté for about 5 minutes until slightly tender.
- Add the carrot strips and continue to sauté for another 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the soy sauce, mirin, sugar, and water. Mix well and cook for an additional 5 minutes until the liquid is mostly evaporated.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
- Garnish with chopped green onion before serving.
