Ingredients

  • Chicken thigh - 300 grams, boneless and skinless
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons (30 ml)
  • Mirin (or sugar-free alternative) - 1 tablespoon (15 ml)
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon (15 ml)
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Green onion - 1 stalk, chopped
  • Black sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Pepper - to taste
  • Wooden skewers - 4 pieces, soaked in water

Steps

  1. Cut the chicken thighs into 2.5 cm cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, minced garlic, and minced ginger to create the marinade.
  3. Pour the marinade over the chicken and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Thread the marinated chicken onto the soaked wooden skewers.
  6. Season the skewers with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Grill the skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
  8. Remove from the grill and sprinkle with chopped green onion and black sesame seeds before serving.
