Ingredients

  • Grilled unagi (eel) - 200 grams
  • Butter lettuce leaves - 4 large leaves
  • Cucumber - 1 small, thinly sliced
  • Radish - 4 slices, thinly sliced
  • Avocado - 1 small, sliced
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce (low sodium) - 1 tablespoon
  • Sriracha - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 1 tablespoon, chopped

Steps

  1. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat.
  2. If the unagi is not pre-cooked, grill it for about 3-4 minutes on each side until heated through.
  3. While the unagi is grilling, prepare the sauce by mixing mayonnaise, soy sauce, and sriracha in a small bowl.
  4. Once the unagi is cooked, assemble the burger by placing two butter lettuce leaves on a plate.
  5. Layer the grilled unagi on top of the lettuce leaves.
  6. Add sliced cucumber, radish, and avocado on top of the unagi.
  7. Drizzle the prepared sauce over the toppings, and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
  8. Top with another lettuce leaf to create a 'top bun' and serve immediately.
