Ingredients

  • Firm Tofu - 300 grams
  • Soy Sauce (or Tamari for gluten-free) - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Red Pepper Flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green Onions (sliced) - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame Seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black Pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Press the tofu for about 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then slice it into 1.5 cm thick steaks.
  3. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
  4. Place the tofu steaks in the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Let them marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  5. Arrange the marinated tofu steaks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Sprinkle sesame seeds and sliced green onions on top of the tofu steaks.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through to ensure even browning.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
