Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Almond flour - 50 grams
  • Green onion - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Miso paste - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Avocado - 1 medium, sliced
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Nori sheets - 2 small, cut into strips (optional)

Steps

  1. Press the firm tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture. Wrap it in a clean kitchen towel and place a heavy object on top.
  2. In a mixing bowl, crumble the pressed tofu and add the egg, almond flour, green onion, soy sauce, miso paste, garlic powder, ginger powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into two burger patties.
  4. Heat sesame oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the tofu patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Meanwhile, prepare the lettuce leaves and slice the avocado.
  6. To serve, place each tofu patty on a lettuce leaf, top with avocado slices, and add nori strips if using. Enjoy your keto tofu burger!
