Ingredients

  • Mackerel fillets - 2 pieces (about 200g each)
  • Sea salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon - 1, juiced
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Green onions - 1 tablespoon, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Rinse the mackerel fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sea salt to create a marinade.
  4. Place the mackerel fillets in a baking dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for 15 minutes.
  5. After marinating, bake the mackerel in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Once cooked, remove from the oven and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
